IPhone users are returning after a viral post on the X (once Twitter) discovered a surprising design quirk in the clock app – one hiding in simple appearance for years.
For anyone who has ever placed an alarm on an iPhone, the process looks straightforward. Time point – the rotating number of numbers – gives the impression of an endless loop of hours that users can move.
However, a user on X destroyed this long assumption by revealing that the alarm time is not really circular. On the contrary, it is an extremely long, linear list of times.
“Time Picker in the iPhone alarm app is not actually circular – it’s just a really long list,” the user posted on X, along with a video to try it.
In the video, Time Picker moves to the end of the list – sitting at 4:39.
Curious users tested it themselves – and to their surprise, it is over.
Cutting “random time” has left very annoyed.
“Why is this such a disturbing discovery?” Someone asked. Another added, “I feel so betrayed.”
Many were evenly surprised by the design, noting that they would use the alarm function for years without ever realizing that it was not an endless movement.
However, others defended the interface, pointing out that no one really needs to move endlessly – is created to make the choice of time fast and calm.
“The important question here is, what were you trying to do?” One person responded to the original tweet.
“How do you understand these things too,” asked another.
However, the fact that the illusion deceived even the most seasoned iPhone users has raised his eyebrows.
Apple has not commented on Revelation, but this is not the first time that the technology giant has been called for hidden features or unexpected design quirks.
Another X user revealed that the Apple calendar app also uses a long list that ends. The last date of iPhone users can currently set a calendar memory for April 18 in 10000.
And in June, Apple fans were surprisingly polarized by a change presented in the next 26 iOS, which includes a redesign of the Clock application icon.
These discoveries without consequences, but shocking, have reached a chord with users who are entertained and upset that such a fundamental function has such a secret.
